ANNOUNCEMENT Paul is sad to announce West End Comedy will cease on July 18th 2011. After two-and-a-half years of running the night he's decided to concentrate solely on comedy writing and performing. He may go back to promoting some time in a galaxy far, far away in the distant future. But essentially he's retiring. He has enjoyed running gigs but as they say all good things come to and end. Well, bad things do to. But West End Comedy has been nothing but a positive thing in terms of gaining stagetime as an act and MC. He would personally like to thank all the acts that have performed at the Comedy Pub and all the punters who have come through the door. Thanks to the pub and Raul especially for his support. It's been emotional. WEST END COMEDY @ THE COMEDY PUB was started in February 2009 by accidental promoter and comedian Paul Laight. Paul's ethos is to put on a show featuring professional acts from TV & Radio as well as future stars of comedy at a pocket happy price. Some wonderfully funny people have appeared at the West End Comedy Club including: Patrick Monahan, Sir Paul Foot, Andrew Lawrence, Robert White, Scott Capurro, Brian Damage & Krystal, Andi Osho, Joe Rowntree, Mike Manera, Matthew Osborn, Ava Vidal, Imran Yusuf, Joe Bor, Rik Moore, Josh Widdicombe, Kate Smurthwaite, Wade McElwain, Julian Deane, Jason Patterson, Rachel Anderson, Ariadne The Wag, Dave Gibson, Gary Colman and many, many more excellent comedians. In 2011 - WEST END COMEDY @ THE COMEDY PUB will run shows mainly on the first and third Monday's of the month with other special occasional shows running throughout the year. Shows start at 8.30pm and entry is usually £4 online or £5 on the door.
